It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mum, Grandma and Great-grandma. Dorothy passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital on August 4, 2010 surrounded by the love of her family after suffering a stroke earlier this summer. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Dick, in 1972.  <br>Dorothy will be deeply missed, and always remembered, by her brother Jim Irvine; her three sons, Bob (Dale), Terry (Dianne) and Michael (Gaye); her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as numerous relatives & friends.  <br>Mum was born in Port Coquitlam on January 30, 1914.  One of 8 children, her family were pioneers in the early  development of Port Coquitlam.   <br>Mum was very social and loved to be in the company of other people. Throughout her life, she remained active in her community, volunteering at the Como Lake United Church Thrift Shop for many years and attending weekly meetings of the Coquitlam chapter of WHO (Women Helping  Others) which she had         co-founded in 1979.  <br>Mum always gave you her undivided attention. She was a great listener and she had the gift of making you feel like the most important person in the world when you were with her. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was interested in everyone and everything around her.
