Kath fought a courageous two year battle with cancer and left us Saturday afternoon with her family by her side. Predeceased by her mother Anne and brother Doug, Kath will be lovingly remembered by her husband Malcolm (Mac), son Timothy, daughter Jennifer, father David (Hilda), brother Richard (Suzanne), niece Rebecca (Rhys), nephews Chrisopher and Daniel. She will be deeply missed by father-in-law Murray, sisters-in-law Beverly (Fred), Judy and Diane (Darryl). Kath was born in San Jose, California, but lived most of her adult years in the Fraser Valley. She enjoyed a rewarding career as a registered nurse in several locations in Langley and Surrey. Kath had a strong, loving, adventurous spirit and was a great lover of all things outdoors. She enjoyed many summers spent camping, boating, and fishing in the Campbell River area and was always a familiar sight on the shore of Salmon Pt., waders on, making just one more cast before she called it a night. She is survived by her three children Leigh (Laura) Manyk of Kelowna BC, Jay (Debra) Manyk of Peace River, Ab, and Kathy Manyk (Ron Kabotoff) of Spruce Grove, Ab as well as 5 grandchildren. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, and the love of her life, George Manyk in 1982. <br>Phyllis was born in Truro, NS. After marrying George, the couple came back to live in his home province of  Alberta. Over the years Phyllis and George lived in various cities in western Canada until they settled in Surrey in 1977.  <br>Phyllis had a great love for  nature and the outdoors. In particular, she had a passion for birds, trees, and flowers.  Phyllis immensely enjoyed traveling and had a strong connection with the Pacific Rim area, especially Cox Bay.  Phyllis was an avid Bridge player and was also a regular volunteer at the Community Thrift Store in Surrey. Most of all Phyllis thoroughly enjoyed a sense of humor, laughter, and  <br>time with her friends and family - She will be missed. <br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Laurel Place Hospice, Surrey, BC.
