She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce (B.C.), her 4 children – Barry (Dorothy), Dale (Cheryl), Maureen (Bruce) Cydeyko and Myles (Sharon) and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. <br>Marion was born in Manchester, England on August 13, 1924 and came to Canada as a British war-bride. She always supported Bruce in his endeavors and was a stay-at-home mom until her children were teenagers. She then worked for many years at the Deerhome in Red Deer where she also taught crafts to the patients. Predeceased by her grand-daughter Tara Hope Jancowski, husband Richard William Jancowski and son Richard William Jancowski Jr. She is survived and will be lovingly missed by sons John (Nan) of Cumberland and David (Cathy) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; grandchildren Debbie, Sherrill, Sean, Michael, Richard, Jackie and Lori. Kay was born in Victoria, B.C. on January 9th, 1918 and graduated from the Western School of Pharmacy in 1940. In addition to her work, she was incredibly committed to her community. Kay was Founding Member and Charter President of the Soroptomist Club of Courtenay, member of Florence Chapter #53, OES, Chairperson of the Western Division of the CPHA committee of Community Pharmacy Practice and the first woman President of the B.C. P.H.A. In 1977 she was elected Trustee of School District #71 and in 1980 became Chairperson of the School Board. In 1981, Kay assumed the Presidency of the local Canadian Cancer Unit and in 1984 she was elected President of the Comox Valley Canadian Cancer Society. In the same year Kay was appointed to the Board as Government Representative of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C. In 1990, she served as Vice-Chair of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. In later years, she received her Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Degree from U.B.C. These are but a few of the countless contributions Kay made to each community in which she lived. She was a force to be reckoned with. She is survived by her loving husband Kurt Heese, parents William and Patricia Dickson, son Aaron (Jessa) of Red Deer, AB, daughter Angela (Pouyan), Prince Rupert, grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jhian and Sophia, brother David Dickson (Sylvia) and sister Karen, niece and nephew Rycki and David Adkins. Barbara was a kind, shy and humble person, possessing an incredible rational raw intelligence, who quietly and deeply loved her family and the people surrounding her. Barb was passionate about and dedicated to her career in the aquaculture industry and demonstrated an unflagging work ethic. She loved spending time in nature and enjoyed photography, being near or on the ocean, sport fishing, hiking, camping and gardening. Barbara loved life and had many wonderful plans for the coming years that were not to be.
