margin-bottom: 1em; min-height:110px;\"> 			It is with the greatest sadness that Fred’s family announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 at 7:15 am.  Fred was born Nov.7, 1925 in Middlesbrough, England.  He emigrated to Canada in 1957.  He was predeceased by his loving wife, Iris, and six brothers and two sisters. <br>Fred is survived and lovingly missed by his daughter Lesley, son-in-law, Andy and granddaughter, Lauren Iris.  He also leaves to mourn his beloved partner of eight wonderful years, Ellen, and her son, Allan (Melissa), and daughter, Lene.  Fred had many nieces and nephews, both in England and Canada, and many close friends who will miss him dearly. <br>Fred had a great love of music and over the years belonged to many singing groups including The Songbirds, The Troubadors, Larry Stubbins Group, and The Tumbleweeds. He survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia Irene, sister; Margaret Bhallan from Nottingham England, children; Philip (Judi), Michelle Irene, Paul, grandchildren; Frank, Natasha Marilyn (Mike), Amy Helen, Melanie Irene, and great-granddaughter; Chloe Michelle. As a young man, he enlisted in th Royal Navy and served as a Leading Electrical Mechanic from 1954-1957. After his service he worked at Rolls-Royce to support his growing family. In 1968, Roger immigrated to Richmond, B.C. from Darbyshire, England with his wife and three children. Once settled, he worked for Alcan for 24 years. Roger enjoyed 17 years of retirement in Bowser where he enjoyed long walks on the beach, his wife\'s roast beef dinner, and volunteering at the legion. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Roger\'s life will be held at the Bowser Legion at a later date. Born in Saskatchewan to Alfred and Mary Schaedeli, Alvin grew up on a farm in Deer Ridge.  In 1989, Alvin and his family settled on Vancouver Island, where he resided for the duration of his life.  Alvin\'s life was enriched with adventures and travels; he was an elaborate storyteller and enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends.  Alvin is survived by his wife Graciela, his son Juan, his daughters Carmen and Connie, his brother Glen (Carol), his sister-in-law Pauline and several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert and his niece Rosalie.  Loved by many, Alvin will be missed by friends and relatives from around the world. Later, in 1990, Jan went to Capilano College, taking the two year paralegal program, graduating With Honours, achieving Dean\'s List in each of the 4 semesters, while also being honoured as the Class Valedictorian. Jan is survived by her mother, Muriel, her brother, Kevin and his wife June, her children, Ja Lynn (and her husband Tim), Angela and Bruce, her grandchildren, Payton Muriel and Kianna Marie, her niece Alana and her Aunt Dolly. Particular thanks goes to Dr. John Corey, of Caulfield Village Medical Clinic, and the staff at Lions Gate General Hospital for their compassionate care during Jan\'s recent illnesses. Her faith in the Lord Jesus was strong to the very end. Penny was born to Paddy and Gladys Marshall.  She graduated from high school in Kamloops before attending the University of British Columbia.  Meeting Allan in Vancouver, they were married in 1969, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary last December.  Two lovely daughters were born to them:  Judi in 1971 and Patricia in 1973.  Penny\'s beloved granddaughter, Matana, was born in 2006.
