Joan left us suddenly and unexpectedly due to complications from a stroke. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister & aunt. She is survived and missed by her husband of 60 years, Vern, her daughter Mary Lynn (Brian), son Bruce (Shelley), grandchildren Graeme, Mark, Scott, Eric, Blair & Rachel and cherished great-grandson Tristan as well as her brother William Anstis, sisters Sylvia Johnston (Lyle), Marilyn Woodhouse (Gary) and many nieces & nephews.
Joan and Vern celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May 2009 with a celebratory tea attended by many family and friends. Joan loved that day and we are so thankful that we had that party and so glad that many of you were able to attend and visit with her.
A Celebration of Joan\'s life will take place at Delta Funeral Home 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:30 am with a lunch reception to follow.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Gertrud Heinzemann passed away late on Nov. 17th, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Matthias Heinzemann, as well as her two children, Charlotte and Alexander, who will all miss her dearly. She will always be remembered for her commitment to her family and community, her thoughtfulness, her hospitality, her passion for travelling as well as reading, and her sense of adventure in moving from Germany to Canada. Please join us in remembering a wonderful wife, mother, and friend at a service on Saturday Nov. 28th, 2009 at the Boundary Bay Cemetery, at 2:30 pm, followed by a reception.

Born July 11, 1912 passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009 at the Tsawwassen Kinsmen Retirement centre. Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Joseph Poelzer. Brothers and sister, Butch, Scotty, Richard, Thomas & Francis. Loving husband Bill Ball. Daughter, Lorraine McLelland and son Larry Friesen and grandson Raymond McLelland. Survived by daughter Gay, grand-daughters Linda, Judy, & Nicole. Grand-sons, Neil, David & John. She had many great grand children, great great grandchildren, neices & nephews. Funeral to be held on October 17, 2009 at 11:30am at the Delta Funeral Home. Reception to follow. A special thanks to the many nurses who looked after mom at the Kinsmen Care Centre.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Helen Davidson, who passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on August 31st, 2009 at the age of 48.
On July 1st, 2008 Helen was first diagnosed with skin cancer. After she had finally beat it, Helen and her family were devastated with the news she would start her fight with cervical cancer. Helen’s battle came to an end peacefully early Monday morning with Keith at her bedside.
Helen’s Memorial Service will be held Saturday , September 5th, 2009, 2:00pm at the All Saints Ladner Anglican Church, 4755 Arthur Drive, Ladner, BC.
Helen’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delta Humane Society and or the Delta Hospice Society.

Gabe passed away from lung cancer at home on August 18th, 2009 at the age of 87 with his loving wife of 59 years, June, at his side. He was born on Nov. 2, 1921 in Lucerne, BC and grew up in the West End of Vancouver. Truly a West Coaster he lived most of his life in the Lower Mainland, raising his family in Richmond, before retiring to Tsawwassen. He leaves behind his four children, Ian (Sonya), Jill (Al), Faye (Ted) and Anne (Gary) as well as nine much loved grandchildren and many members of his extended family. Gabe worked many years as a CGA before becoming an entrepreneur in his 50\'s, opening Holliday Funwear sportswear stores with his wife and in-laws, Milton and Myrtle Sorley. After leaving the retail business in 1996, Gabe threw his talents into running the strata council in the Lexington Apartments, where he and June have lived since 1995.
Gabe was a wicked Crib player, a voracious reader and an underrated joke teller but first and foremost he was a family man. Whether it was a campsite in Cultus, a condo in Hawaii or on the road in an RV he was happiest with his family around him. He will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to his physician, Dr. Jim Park for his great care of Gabe. A private celebration of Gabe\'s life will be held in September. Please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Society or the Delta Hospice Building fund, in honor of Gabe.

After a bravely fought short illness, Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Survived by Doreen, his loving wife of 57 years, son Tyler (Sandi), grandchildren Alexis, Kyle (Brian) and Dani dog, daughter Jill (David), son Brent (Len), nieces Karen (Alan) and Daphne (Walter).
Born in Valemount, BC, Bill was a long-time Delta resident, teacher and principal, who devoted himself to serving his community and its youth. He was a member of many organizations and a leading force in participating and promoting sports his entire life.
Please join us in celebrating a wonderful life. A Memorial Service will be held at South Delta Baptist Church on August 24, 2009 at 1:pm., family friend Pastor Jerry Rueb to officiate.

It is with shock and great sadness we announce the passing of my dear son Alan who passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, August 2, 2009. Alan was born May 28, 1954 in Vancouver General Hospital and lived all his life in Ladner, BC.
He enjoyed his life - first fishing and later crabbing until he got sick.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Melinda Chittick and mother Evelyn Hageman along with many relatives and friends.
Alan\'s remains will be cremated and interred with his father at Boundary Bay Cemetery, Tsawwassen, BC. A Memorial Services will be held at the Christian Reformed Church 4594 54A Street, Ladner, BC on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 12 noon with reception to follow.

Passed away peacefully June 21, 2009 at Richmond Hospital at the age of 79. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Edgar and Edith Butchart, brothers: David, Noel, Bobby, Jimmy, Len, Earl and sisters: Alice, Edith, Gloria and Gertie. Survived by her loving family: sons David (Janice), Mark (Armi), Bruce and daughter Janet. Bev also leaves many friends in Delta and at the Kinsmen Retirement Centre where she loved to play bingo. Bev leaves many special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews throughout BC. She will be missed by her brother-in-law and friend Tony Borshneck and sisters-in-law Iris Butchart and Clare Finlay. Beverley was born and raised in Chilliwack, BC and throughout her life she worked as a bank teller, a medical office worker and was a Watkins representative. She was a wonderful cook and raised four wonderful children. Many of us are going to miss her great family recipes and those yummy pies. Beverley loved to do cross-stitch, was an avid reader, loved music and had a passion for sports, especially hockey. Beverley loved to spend time in Reno and although a reserved gambler, she was a very lucky lady on those slot machines. Funeral Service will take place a Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11 am, followed by a Reception then Burial at Boundary Bay Cemetery, Tsawwassen, BC.

Carol Ripplinger, nee Terrell, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2009 at 5:36 pm in her home at Boundary Bay in Tsawwassen, BC, with her husband Jim and a dozen family members and friends at her side.
Carol was the light of her husband and family\'s lives and will be sorely missed by all those left behind. She was predeceased by Noah Terrell (father), Wayne Martin (brother) and Noah Brady (son) and survived by her husband Jim Ripplinger; mother Evelyn Terrell; father-in-law Joseph Ripplinger; sons Patrick, David, Steven; daughters Marie, Pamela; grandchildren Kelsey, Nathan, Jackie, Alexandra, Rueben, Craig, Samantha, Sophia and Tessa Rose; brothers and sisters Noah (Juanita), Lenna Mae (Jim), Carlene (Don), Betty Jo (Randy), Billy Joe (Stephanie), in-laws Betty (Ron), Doris (Terry), Karen (Danny), Kevin and numerous nephews, nieces and close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2:30 pm in the sanctuary of the Ladner Baptist Church located at 5624 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC. Reception to follow at the church and the family wishes all friends to attend.
A Service will be held later in June 2009 in Carol\'s childhood home town of Bakersfield, California.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the American Cancer Society or the Surrey Women\'s Shelter.

Our beloved mother passed away peacefully in the Delta hospital with her family by her side.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Arnie in 2004 and son Dean in 2008. Joyce never got over her sorrow after losing Dean and was never able to recover.
Joyce is survived by daughters, Aloma, Dawn, Jamie, Denise, Ingrid, Lynne and son Arnie. Also survived by her loving sisters Aloma, Pauline, brother Jim and 18 grandchildren. Joyce brought up 8 biological children and fostered many others, never turning anyone away. Our house was filled with love, laughter, music and was always bursting with family and friends.
Joyce was a proud volunteer with the Ladner Hospital Auxillary, working the last 12 years at the Ladner Thrift Shop. Joyce loved her job and the many friends she made at the shop. Joyce would appreciate donations to the Hospital Auxillary in lieu of flowers.
Joyce\'s family will hold a Celebration of Life on February 14th @ 1:00 o\'clock at 4980 55B Street, Ladner, B.C.
I want no tears or gloom filled room.
