Sheila was born in West Hallam, Derbyshire, England in 1940 and emigrated to Cumberland, BC in 1950 with her family. After graduating from UBC she was a high school English teacher for a number of years until she found her passion in life in the world of libraries. Receiving her MLS degree in 1987, she worked for many years for the Surrey Public Library specializing in Genealogy. Sheila will be remembered for her generosity, her gracious spirit and the abundance and delight of her culinary skills. She was a voracious reader with a questing intellect and eclectic interests. Sheila was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00 PM at St. Catherine\'s Anglican Church (Trinity United), 2211 Prairie Ave., Port Coquitlam. Annie grew up in Delft Holland and in 1949 she immigrated to Canada, along with her mother, to join her sister’s family in Calgary Alberta. She met and married her husband there. They moved to Vancouver BC in 1953, to Port Coquitlam in 1981 and to Pitt Meadows in 1995. She is pre-deceased  by her parents and her sister Elsie (Piet) Deurloo. She is survived by: her husband Frank; children Francina (Tom) Carr and John Vermeulen; grandsons John Roberts & Nathan and Dan  Vermeulen; granddaughter Dawn (Graham) Browne; several nieces & nephews, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was much loved, and will be greatly missed, by all who knew her, as she was extremely loving and selfless…the kind of person we would all wish to emulate. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at RMH, especially those on 2West, for the excellent care they provided. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lukes        Roman Catholic Church (20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge) on Thursday    Jan 14, at 11:00 AM; Rev. Fr. Amador Abundo celebrant. Reception to follow.
