Born on January 12th 1925 in Winnipeg her family moved to Steveston, BC in 1930, where she attended Lord Byng Elementary School and Richmond High School. She joined the CWAC in 1943, serving as a Corporal until her honorable discharge in 1945. Elva was a longtime member of Sunrise Pavillion Seniors Center where she spent many hours volunteering, helping other seniors. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Reta and by sisters-in-law Dorris Bertram and Mil Ralston and by brother-in-law Ralph L. Ralston (Marion). He is also survived by nephews Blaine Bertram (Pat), Russell Ralston (Barbara), Lyle Ralston (Kathy), Brian Ralston and many other great nieces and nephews. Dick was a well respected teacher and administrator. The joy of his life was cruising in his boat to Alaska and along the Pacific Coast with his beloved wife Reta. They also enjoyed RV trips in the spring and fall to every Canadian province including New Foundland as well as the majority of American States. She is survived by   nieces and nephews: June Sehn (Dixon), Charles Dixon and Jackie; Ron Fentiman & Jane; George Fentiman & Inga; Doug Fentiman & Joan; Marygail King (Fentiman) & Ron. Rose was born in London, England, came to Canada in 1925 with the family, which settled in Richmond, BC. She was a member of the   Canadian Women\'s Army Corp 1942-1945, worked for Woodwards Department Store, Vancouver (Wool Dept.) 1947-1965 in a managerial position in the latter years. <br>Rose then started her own business, RoseN Wools in Richmond 1965-1972. She moved to Courtenay, BC in November 2000 to be with and be cared for by family. <br>Following cremation, private family internment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery, Burnaby. Rose\'s family would like to express their   appreciation for the care and support she received from Casa Loma Administration and Caregivers, the paramedics, emergency room staff and the nurses on the second and third floors at St. Joseph\'s Hospital.
