MACGREGOR, M.C., CD. <br>Born in 1923, the son of Ernest and Margaret (Morgan) MacGregor, he attended school in Calgary. After finishing high school and one year at the University of Alberta he joined the Officers Training Corps at Gordon Head, Victoria in 1942. It was at this time he met his wife to be Josephine (Joie) Ley. Sent overseas to England he joined the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, fought in Italy from the Hitler line north. He was awarded the Military Cross for his leadership and bravery at Naviglio in Italy. He was wounded in Holland just before the end of the war. He married Joie in October 1945 and continued his military career with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) he commanded 2 PPCLI From 1963 to 1966. He also served with the UN in the Middle East and Vietnam. during his infantry career he helped raise three sons, Kirk (Toronto), Clive (Halifax) and Roy (Winnipeg). He retired in 1976 as a Brigadier General Commanding Camp Gagetown and then moved to Victoria. After retiring he remained active in the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Association, worked for the Last Post Fund. Interested in municipal affairs he participated in community activities such as the establishment of the Galloping Goose Trail in Victoria. He loved the outdoors, walking, camping or riding his bike when he could. His active life was severely curtailed in 2004 with the diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife of 63 years:  Joie, his sons Kirk, Clive and Roy, (Corinne, wife), his brother Tom MacGregor and sister Beth Jantzie (Calgary), grandchildren; Jennifer MacGregor (Brighton), Daniel MacGregor (Melbourne), Cameron MacGregor and Dawn MacGregor (Winnipeg). A memorial service will be held in his hometown of London, Ontario in the spring. <br>Vic’s life revolved around music, particularly the music of Jimi Hendrix. Elsie (Wilson) Mills was born July 15, 1917 on Mills Road, a real Saanich pioneer. She was a Mother, Grandmother and a Great Grandmother. <br> <br>Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Cyril (Pappy) Mills in 2004, son in-law Donald Brooks of Port Alberni in 1995 and brother Barney Wilson in 2008. <br> <br>Elsie is survived and remembered by daughter Dorothy Brooks of Port Alberni B.C, Grandsons Ronald(Shireen) Brooks of Wasa Lake B.C and children Jesse, Rawnie and Dustin ;Gordon(Lisa) Brooks of Port Alberni B.C and children Justin and Garret;Terry (Faith) Brooks of Campbell River B.C and children Quinten and Alex. McAllister preciding June 10, 1939. Cyril was off to the 2nd World War as a gunnery officer in the R.C.N. Elsie helped finish their house which was being built by her father Bert Wilson and brothers on Obed Avenue. She liked to remind family how hot it was in Sept 1939 and that she gave the cedar siding 3 coats of paint. Elsie and Cyril lived in that house until moving to a condo on Tillicum Road in 2003. Elsie (Nana) tended to her balconey tomato plants and flowers with loving care until she broke her hip this August. She then moved up to Port Alberni in September to be with her family. <br> <br>We all know how Nana loved to take some sandwiches and a thermos of coffee in her Studebaker and find a sunny bench for lunch with a friend. Her 1965 Studebaker has found a good home with her great grandsons in Port Alberni. <br> <br>Family and friends will gather for a picnic and celebration of Nana’s life on the Sooke River on a sunny day in the spring. <br> <br>No Service by request. As Bob\'s family mourns his passing, we fondly recall the joy and love this wonderful man freely expressed and shared with his family, friends and everyone who crossed his path. <br>Bob leaves two sons with Marjorie (deceased), John (living in Vancouver, BC) and Hugh (living in San Clemente, CA with his wife Marlene Mills-Margesson) and is missed by grandson Robert (Rob) James Margesson, Ph.D., living in Denver, CO with his wife Shawna and two great-granddaughters, Emma and Sage, and Rob’s mother Deb and husband Scott Snyder.  <br>Through a second marriage to Lynette Margesson (deceased), Bob\'s love for and commitment to family extended to his niece Lynne Margesson her husband Bill, and daughters Claire and Dawn Danby, nephews David (Nina) Margesson, D’Arcy (Vicki) Margesson, and Richard (Phyllis) Margesson.  <br>At the age of 83, Bob was blessed with another opportunity to love and marry. Born in Regina, July 26th 1930, Cliff grew up in North Battleford Saskatchewan. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Cornwallis where he met his beautiful bride Betty.  He always claimed he married her because she was the only one he could get in the backseat of his Chevy.  The happy couple had their first child in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.  He was then transferred to Victoria, had 2 more children and called it quits for kids.  He spent the next 26 years in the Naden Band traveling the world.  When he was in Victoria between trips, he had a dance band and was a member of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra.  For pleasure, he loved golfing and gardening.   <br> <br>He enjoyed his annual hunting/fishing trips up north with his boys and his adopted son Kel.  He tried to organize everything and everyone in camp and made sure there was no shortage of his world famous garlic toast & “slugs”  He also thought Mexico could use a little cleaning up and could be seen working on the boulevards there earning himself the title of ‘Senor Limpio’.   <br> <br>Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his stunning wife Betty, his oldest son Mike, the Golden Child (Geri), his younger son and fishing buddy Al (Barb), and his favorite daughter Lori (Larry). She was the dear daughter of Lucienne Gendron, sister of Carol, Louise, Phillip and dearest      Rachelle as well as sister-in-law of Monique Landry, Joanne, Red and Mario and also had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Suzanne was born in Hull, Que. and moved to the west coast in the 70\'s and worked in hairdressing in Vancouver before she moved to Victoria, there she delivered the local paper (Penny saver and Victoria News) for 20+ years all over Victoria. She wanted everyone to have access to current events and honest  perspective. She would load her papers in her sons red wagon and never missed a week. Suzanne\'s warm smile and determination to be content each day with what she dad lives on in her sons Antoine and Angelo, whom she gave every part of her life to, as well as her daughter  Diane. Thank you to Lucy, Mavis and all those who helped Suzanne throughout the years. Her advice would be \"Read the paper and listen to CBC\". Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews R.C.
