Born in Port Hardy the eldest child of Robert and Judy, Robyn grew up and attended elementary school at Robert Scott until the closing of Island Copper uprooted our family and sent us to Victoria and then to Stewart. She thrived in high school despite having her own father as her teacher much of the time. She decided to take a break from Stewart in her grade 11 year, bravely setting off on her sixteenth birthday to spend a year in France. We missed her but were not surprised that she flourished and returned to Stewart to graduate at the head of her small class of 2000. She enrolled at UVic and directed her studies to follow her life-long passion for all things living. She was deeply saddened by the loss of her brother Colin in a car accident in 2003 but persisted in her studies receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2005. She enjoyed biology field work in Victoria, Washington State, Arizona and Alaska. She pursued many interests both while at school and after, including: wilderness camping, knitting, stained glass, photography and singing . She was an active member of St. Aidan’s United Church. <br>She was very happy in 2007 when her parents moved back to Port Hardy and her sister Elizabeth moved to Courtenay with her partner Chad Fletcher allowing much closer contact with her family. Her passion for the ocean drew her into scuba diving which developed from a hobby into a career as an instructor. As she fell in love with scuba diving she met and also fell in love with Jes Saliba. Together they enjoyed scuba diving, instructing, travel and friends. ??Robyn touched our lives with vibrancy, love, intelligence and passion.
