margin-bottom: 1em; min-height:110px;\"> 			Charles Herbert Horrey <br> <br>On January 1, 2010, Charles Herbert Horrey passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, in the Arrow Lakes Hospital.  Born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Charlie came to Nakusp, B.C., at the age of five, with his parents, Frank and Edith Horrey.  Charlie and his four sisters grew up and attended school and church in the community.  At an early age, Charlie began working for his father in the butcher bakery business, and later in the Rushton Hardware.   <br>Charlie took over the business, renaming it Nakusp Hardware, and running until 1960.   <br>He remained in the hardware business until 1985, working in Calgary and Edmonton for Marshall Wells Ltd., as warehouse manager.  After his retirement, he resided in Castlegar for many years before returning to Nakusp in 2006.   <br> <br>Charlie leaves to mourn two sons, Doug (Amy) and Dave (Sharon), a daughter, marilyn (Bob) and daughter-in-law, Cheryl; sisters, Nellie and Lil; and the extended Woldum and Jupp families.  Numerous grandchildren,  <br>great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews will miss their grandpa and uncle.  Charlie was predeceased by sisters, Edie and Stella, son Bruce,  <br>and Catherine and Alice.   <br> <br>In 2006, Charlie married his childhood friend, Joyce, who brought great joy and happiness to his final years. <br> <br>If friends and family so desire, memorial tributes may be made to  Arrow Lakes Hospital Foundation, <br>Box 284, Nakusp, B.C. Virgil was born on May 11th, 1938 in Eastend Saskatchewan. Virgil moved his family to beautiful BC in 1967. They spent three years living in Burton BC and Virgil worked for BC Hydro at that time. In 1970 the family moved to Nakusp and he started up his own building construction company.  <br> <br>As you look around Nakusp, you will see many lovely homes and other buildings in which he constructed. He also oversaw and built the Nakusp Hotsprings and Cedar Chalets, Halcyon Home and our Arena to name a few. <br> <br>Not only was Virgil a talented carpenter but he as well known for all his many contributions within the village. He spent many years with the Kinsman Club and in which he was so actively involved with projects within the community making it a better place for all. <br> <br>All who knew Virgil will fondly remember his honesty and integrity that he showed throughout his life. He will also be remembered for his great generosity and kindness that he showed towards all his family and friends. <br> <br>Virgil is survived by his wife Ruth, son Darren (Tana), daughter Connie (Paul), son Steve (Annette), daughter Laurie (Rick). Also, his many grandchildren: Shelby, Zac, Kaitlyn, Cassidy, Taylor, Nicholas, Michael, Alec and Kyle. Also survived by his sister Shirley, brother in law Cam and mother in law Eva. <br> 	 <br>A memorial service was held on December 21st in Nakusp, BC at the arena auditorium in which Virgil had built. The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice and the nurses ant the Nakusp Hospital. A very special thank you to Dr. Norm Lea for everything you do. He was an active Dairy Farmer, his joy for 50 years, 39 of which were in Edgewood, B.C.  He leaves behind Sigrid, his wife, partner and greatest help-mate for 53 years. Tak was a mill worker, musician, logger and tugboat captain.  He spent most of his working life on the Arrow Lake between Revelstoke and Castlegar.   In Vancouver, Tak studied music, performed with a Japanese-Canadian orchestra and taught a classical Japanese instrument, the shakuhachi.  His music could often be heard drifting along the Columbia River after work days.  Tak was an avid fisherman and a meticulous gardener.  <br> <br>Tak died peacefully surrounded by his family on the afternoon of November 15, 2009, at The Hamlets, a long term care facility, in Kamloops, BC.   <br> <br>Tak will be missed by his family and friends, and remembered for his friendly disposition and peaceful manner.   <br>Tak and his wife, Fujiko, were married on November 24, 1945.   <br>He is survived by his wife, Fujiko of Kamloops BC; son, Harold (Carol) of Kamloops, BC; daughter, Fay (Orville) of Prince George, BC; son, Ken (Cheryl) of Nakusp, BC; daughter, Patsy (Steve) of Nakusp, BC; grandchildren, Lisa, Kameron, Tanys (David), Alan (Hanna), Jill, Robert, Chris (Amanda), Darren, Janine, Avery, Kellan, Kobe, Garret and Tosh; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jordan and Ava.  He is also survived by his younger siblings, Eddy, Walter, Marion and Katie of Alberta, Canada, and Tatsuo and Kiyoko of Osaka, Japan.  Tak was predeceased by his daughter, Julianne (Roman), and several siblings from Japan. (although she would have preferred Nakusp.) Marie (Mimi) was born on June 17, 1926 on the William Addison family farm.  She grew up and attended school in Carberry and district.  At the age of twenty, Marie married the love of her life Al, and their honeymoon brought them to Nakusp, where they fell in love with the community. They spent their lives together raising their family, building their business of thirty-eight years (Al’s Jewellery and Gift Shop), developing lifelong friendships, and being very involved in their community.  While Marie’s priority was always her family, she also enjoyed volunteering with the Hospital Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, and the church.   Marie was predeceased by her cherished husband of 50 years in 1997, her parents William and Elsie Addison, her siblings Mary, Ivan, Dave, Cliff, Jock, and Frances.  She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children Myrna (Wayne), Murray (Lori), and her grandchildren Michael, Erin (Mike), Cameron and Gordon.  She also leaves behind a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many very close friends. <br> <br>A memorial service will be held on Saturday,  <br>November, 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Robertson  <br>Memorial United Church in Nakusp.   <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, Mom preferred donations be made to B.C.
