margin-bottom: 1em; min-height:110px;\"> 			Passed away peacefully with her family by her side August 4, 2009 at Kootenay Lake District Hospital.  Betty was born on  <br>November 19, 1925 in Holland, Manitoba. <br> <br>Betty married Walter Clarkson on April 2, 1958 in Manitoba and then moved to Nelson where Walter operated Clarkson motors. Betty was predeceased  by him in 1973 and raised four wonderful children on her own from the ages of 13, 12, 10, & 4 as well as keeping all the house & yard maintenance.  <br> <br>She was a strong women who loved to spend time with her family and most of all her grandchildren. Betty also really enjoyed a good game of hockey whether on TV or on the radio. She enjoyed knitting , sewing, needlepoint, rocheting and liquid embroidery in her spare time.  <br> <br>Betty was a member of the Fairview United Church & Nelson United Church and often played the organ at the church for funerals, weddings and at music fests.  <br> <br>Betty is survived by her 4 children and their families, Beth & Husband Mac (Vanderhoof) and their children Kailey and Maraya, Jim & his wife Alba (Montrose) and their children Stefanie & Melissa, Neill & Brenda (Nelson), Dianne, husband John (Nelson) and sons Brad, Sean & Scott.  <br> <br>Betty was also predeceased by her mother Elizabeth, father James, sister Jane and brother James.  She also leaves behind her niece Francine and family, nephews John, Garrie, Donald and families as well as Bill,  Russell, Barbara & Sheila and their families and sister in law Marion Glover  <br>and numerous  Clarkson  relatives.  <br> <br>A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:30 AM from Nelson Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Boyd officiating. A Tea will be held at the  <br>Nelson United Church following the Graveside Service. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Assunta, 2 daughters Lucia and Rosetta (Kevin) McConachie, 2 grandchildren Madison and Kevin Jr., 2 brothers Luigi (Antonietta), Gerardo (Romilda), 2 sisters Teresa (Antonio) Russo and Brigida (Vito) Tummillo, sister in law Marisa Iacullo, numberous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
